Palawan Holidays & Island Hopping

Palawan is the trip most people picture when they imagine the Philippines: limestone cliffs rising out of clear water, hidden lagoons, and beaches you reach by boat rather than road.

El Nido or Coron?

El Nido has the famous lagoons and the widest choice of island-hopping tours, plus more places to stay across a range of budgets. Coron is quieter, with dramatic lakes and some of the best wreck diving in Asia. Many of our clients do both, linked by the ferry or a short domestic flight. If you only have time for one and want the postcard shot, choose El Nido.

Getting there

Fly into Puerto Princesa or, for a shorter transfer, direct into El Nido on a domestic flight. From Puerto Princesa the road transfer to El Nido takes around five to six hours, which is worth knowing before you book — it is a long day after a long-haul flight, so we usually build in an overnight.

Island hopping

Tours are grouped into set routes (commonly labelled A to D in El Nido) covering different lagoons, beaches and snorkelling spots. Private boat charters are available and are worth it if you want to avoid the crowds at the popular lagoons or travel with family. We can arrange either.

Frequently asked questions

How many days do I need in Palawan?

Four to five nights in El Nido gives you two full island-hopping days plus recovery time. Add three nights for Coron.

Is El Nido or Coron better for diving?

Coron, for the WWII wrecks. El Nido is better for snorkelling and scenery.

How do I get from Puerto Princesa to El Nido?

Around five to six hours by road, or a short domestic flight into El Nido airport. We book whichever suits your arrival time.
